EDT Presents: Lessons from Lockdown

There have been warnings about the potential consequences of a pandemic for many years, yet COVID-19 caught us off guard and the toll on the global community will continue to be felt long into the future.

As our communities emerge from varying states of lockdown, our lives will return to a new normal in which much has changed. For the moment, we must learn to live with the novel coronavirus, and this pandemic will certainly not be the last. The pandemic has provoked unprecedented challenges for work, study, relationships, and health, but also offered opportunities to reflect on how we currently exist as a society and how we can support each other better.

The education community in particular has much to gain when reflecting on control measures and lock downs. So, in September 2020, join us at Lessons from Lockdown, a series of presentations focused on what we have learnt as a broader community. Our virtual conference offers academics, policy makers, health workers, educators, parents, carers, and community members a chance to connect and to engage with a wide range of narratives on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic as we ask: What have we learnt about our systems, and how has the pandemic changed us?

Presentations will offer insights into research and practice, as well as allow us to share personal stories on the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope that this conference will support us, together, to shape the next chapter of our story.
