Introducing Classroom Vibe

At Educational Data Talks, we know that when students experience positive and productive culture in their classroom that is focused on learning and growth, they have the greatest chance of achieving their best. We like to describe this culture as the learning-focused atmosphere of a classroom as experienced by the students, it is what we call Classroom Vibe, and for us, it is the combined impact of a Teacher’s Credibility and Clarity in undertaking their work.

Having been educators, we believe that it is a teacher’s responsibility to deliberately cultivate their Classroom Vibe. Our goal is to support teachers in cultivating their classrooms’ vibe and maximise student learning!

How we can help?

To support teachers in understanding and building the vibe in their classrooms, we have several offerings.

  1. Our Director, Tim O’Leary’s book, Classroom Vibe: Practical Strategies for Better Classroom Culture is a great place to start. Excuse the self-promotion.

  2. Tim delivers professional development sessions (keynotes and workshops) on introducing the ideas behind Classroom Vibeas well as building teacher capability.

  3. Tim has designed the Classroom Vibe Student Perception Survey to provide insights to teachers across two broad categories of known high-impact teaching strategies.

    The goal?

To help make evidence of teaching visible.

The Classroom Vibe Student Perception Survey and its associated reports have been designed to provide insights to teachers across two broad categories of known high-impact teaching strategies. These include Teacher Credibility and Teacher Clarity. These areas were specifically chosen as they capture key observable elements of high-quality teaching practice.

The Classroom Vibe Student Perception Survey provides teachers with:

    • Valid and reliable feedback about their students’ experiences of known high-impact teaching practices.

    • Personalised research-informed strategies for improvement.

The intention of this is to help teachers develop by identifying opportunities for improvement in their teaching practice and supporting this with personalised research-informed strategies. This survey is one of our flagship products, it builds on Tim’s work as a teacher and PhD research, and we are incredibly proud of it!
