ADAPTIVE LEADERSHIP FOR EDUCATORS

In the “new normal” we step into the realm of leadership in a context that few of us could have imagined. While some have found the recent months quite stressful; others have found that the pandemic, because of the difficulties it presents, has afforded a unique opportunity to step into aspects of leadership that had unavailable to them, or which they had thought outside their capability. If you are a leader who wishes to this expand your current capability and shift your organisational culture by mobilizing and empowering others, this program is for you.

Program Outcomes:    

  • Facilitators will engage participants in a discussion of the areas that impact most on leadership capability in schools;

  • Participants will learn about the research behind adaptive leadership in schools and educational organisations, drawing on the work of Heifetz, Linsky and others;

  • Participants will be invited to share their own experience and perspectives as they engage in an examination of mental models and practices around leadership;

  • Participants will be expected to engage in reflective practices to help them understand how their current leadership responses impact on their school culture through a framework for application which will be provided to them during the session;

  • Participants will develop strategies that can improve their school culture and create impactful change.
